Responsible Gaming

Last updated: 24 September 2026

At Catbet we want gaming to stay what it should be — entertainment. For most people it is. For some, it can become a problem. This page explains how to keep control, how to spot the warning signs, and what help is available, both from us and from independent organisations.

1.Keep It Fun

  • Treat gambling as the cost of entertainment, not as a way to make money.
  • Only play with money you can afford to lose. Never use money meant for rent, bills, food or debts.
  • Decide in advance how much you will spend and how long you will play, and stop when you reach either limit.
  • Never chase your losses. Trying to win back what you have lost usually leads to losing more.
  • Do not gamble when you are upset, stressed, lonely or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Take regular breaks, and balance gambling with other activities.

2.Warning Signs

Gambling may be becoming a problem if you:

  • spend more money or time gambling than you meant to;
  • gamble to escape problems or to cope with difficult feelings;
  • feel restless or irritable when you try to cut down;
  • borrow money, sell belongings or miss payments to gamble;
  • hide your gambling from family and friends, or lie about it;
  • keep going back to win back what you have lost;
  • neglect work, study or the people close to you because of gambling.

If any of these sound familiar, it is time to take a break and talk to someone. Help is available, and it works.

3.Take a Break

If you want to step away for a while, contact Customer Support and ask for a cooling-off period of anywhere from 24 hours to 6 weeks. During that time you will not be able to deposit or play. Your account reopens automatically when the period ends.

4.Self-Exclusion

If you need a longer break, you can self-exclude for 6 months, 1 year, 5 years or permanently. Contact Customer Support and we will act on your request promptly.

  • While you are self-excluded, you will not be able to sign in, deposit or play, and you will not receive any promotional messages from us.
  • Your remaining balance can be withdrawn to an address you provide.
  • A self-exclusion cannot be cancelled or shortened before it ends.
  • You must not open a new account during a self-exclusion. Any account we find will be closed.

5.Closing Your Account

You can ask Customer Support to close your account at any time, for any reason. If you are closing it because of concerns about your gambling, please tell us, so we can make sure it is not reopened.

6.Protecting Minors

You must be 18 or over to use Catbet, and we will close any account we find belongs to someone underage. If you share a device with children, keep your password private, do not let your browser remember it, and consider using parental-control software such as Net Nanny, Qustodio or the controls built into your device to block gambling websites.

7.Where to Get Help

These independent organisations offer free, confidential support to anyone affected by gambling, including family and friends:

  • Gamblers Anonymous — gamblersanonymous.org
  • Gambling Therapy — gamblingtherapy.org (free online support in many languages)
  • GamCare — gamcare.org.uk
  • BeGambleAware — begambleaware.org

You are not alone, and it is never too early — or too late — to ask for help.
